Here in New York, there is a radio station that started playing nothing but Christmas tunes 24×7 . . . before Thanksgiving! Worse yet, my office building pipes this station in the hallways. Ergo, I’ve been subjected to way too much “Rudolph”, “Jingle Bells”, etc. already, and we’re still over three weeks away from the big day. At the same time, we’re still at least nine weeks from “pitchers and catchers” (and I don’t believe there are any songs extolling the wonder and joy of THAT blessed event).
So, to tide me over (and keep me from slitting my wrists while walking the hallways at work), I give you the VORG interpretation of the “12 Days of Christmas”. I’ve culled the first or last names of major and minor leaguers to replace most of the original lyrics (phonetically in most cases). I dare you to break THIS version out at your family holiday dinner.
