The VORG Offers a Baseball-themed “God Bless America”

Once upon a time, the “Seventh Inning Stretch” belonged to “Take Me out to the Ballgame” solely.  Perhaps you would also hear/sing “God Bless America” on Memorial Day or the Fourth of July.   Then 9/11 happened, and some teams responded by playing “God Bless America” during EVERY subsequent game.

Given varying levels of patriotism, nationalism and/or religious dedication, some people have grown weary of “God Bless America.”  If you are one of those people, the VORG presents you with the following . . . “God Bless America” using only Major or Minor League player names.  The next time you are asked to rise and remove your cap, if you don’t care to sing the original “GBA” again, try it with these lyrics.

Goda Blest Americo,
Land Cat Eye Love.
Standley Side Herr, Anda Guider
Frew Thie Knight With Thie Light From Abad.
From Thie Mountain, Toole Lip Rarey,
Toole Leo Shunk, White With Ohm
Goda Blest Americo, Maholm Sweet Holm

  1. As someone who hated “God Bless America” even before the Yankees decided to torture us with Kate Smith’s appalling rendition every seventh inning, I hereby dub this the Best Post EVAR!
