On Twitter, Sarah Wexler noted a strange event:
Just realized we might be watching one of the tallest pitching matchups ever pic.twitter.com/kio4Sk8LYk

This is the game she was referring to. 6′ 7″ Adam Wainwright versus 6′ 7″Jered Weaver. 158 inches of starting pitchers in the game. But is that a record?
Using the Retrosheet gamelogs thru 2016, I found three games in which the starting pitchers were a combined 162 inches tall:
| date | vteam | hteam | VIS SP | HOME SP | VIS HT | HOME HT | TOT HT |
| 20090928 | BAL | TBA | Mark Hendrickson | Jeff Niemann | 81 | 81 | 162 |
| 20070515 | ARI | COL | Randy Johnson | Jason Hirsh | 82 | 80 | 162 |
| 20090608 | SFN | FLO | Randy Johnson | Sean West | 82 | 80 | 162 |
