Sitting at 60-29 at the All-Star Break, the Astros boast a gaudy 33-11 record on the road. and that .750 road winning percentage is 2nd-best since 1901 (1906 Chicago Cubs went 60-15 away from home, for an .800 winning percentage). The Astros have put up a remarkable 314 runs in their 44 road games, an average of 7.14 per game. Those 314 road runs eclipses the TOTAL runs scored by the San Diego Padres to this point in the season (312 in a total of 88 games). This got the VORG wondering when was the last time one team’s road (or home) production outpaced another team’s scoring for an entire season.
Here is the list. Notice that the last occurrence of a road team outscoring another team’s entire season was 75 years ago in 1942 (Yankees), and its been 21 years since a team has done it in their home games (Colorado).
